You may not need the money, but it’s still yours to spend or give away. And in doing so, you’ll be helping others.
Treat the CDC (Community Development Councils) vouchers as money in your wallet. Don’t let it slip away or go to waste, as many people seem to be doing.
The CDC vouchers are handed out to citizens to help them in difficult times. In Budget 2021, CDC vouchers worth $100 were given to every Singaporean household.
In this year’s budget, it was announced a further three tranches of CDC vouchers would be released between May this year and 2024.
The $100 worth of CDC vouchers for this year have just been issued.

They can be used in heartland shops and can be redeemed anywhere you see the special decal (above).
Some people feel the vouchers should be used in more locations, but they are intended to help Singaporean lower-income households defray their cost of living while supporting hawkers and heartland merchants affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Some generous folks have donated their vouchers to those who need them more. But many have just left the vouchers unclaimed because they either don’t know how to redeem them or can’t be bothered to go through with the process of claiming the $100.
There are those who have not claimed the CDC vouchers because they don’t know how to go about it, or don’t have a smartphone. If you do not have a smartphone or Singpass, visit your nearest Community Centre/Club (CC) or call the PA Contact Centre at 6225 5322.
Meanwhile, many members of the SilverStreak community have been making full use of these vouchers. Here’s what some of them have to say.
"I used it to purchase some groceries like coffee sachets and sugar from some selected merchants. I've also used it to eat at some hawker stalls that display the decal," said S. Chan.

"I was delighted to discover that my neighbourhood optician accepted CDC vouchers. I used the vouchers to purchase my disposable contact lenses," said Valerie Valberg-Yeoh.

Khadija MacKenzie said she used the vouchers for "teeth scaling and polishing at the neighbourhood dental clinic".

Jasmine Adams reckons the key is to keep your eyes peeled for the CDC sticker. She added that it would also help if the shopkeepers let their regular customers know that they accept the vouchers. "My fishmonger has blasted out that they accept the vouchers and so did my durian seller. And I know that when I next entertain, I can go to Ah Xiao Teochew Braised Duck at Golden Mile or Bendemeer and use the vouchers to buy a whole duck and more".
