Balvinder is a writer/editor who has contributed to newspapers, magazines and websites in Singapore for over 25 years. Topics she has written on include, entertainment, travel, health, women’s interests, business and technology. She is also a published author of four non-fiction books. She has been based in Melbourne for over a decade but still works exclusively for Singapore-based publications/clients and goes back home often. She’s happiest when she’s reading a good book while drinking a cup of tea and listening to her favourite music. She misses her favourite chicken rice and Old Chang Kee curry puffs so much that she literally dreams about them.

In 2018, she retired from teacher education to focus on teaching and learning about mindfulness. An avid reader, she works at incorporating a mindful approach to her everyday life. Her daily routine includes working on her writing, yoga, art and gardening practices.

Dr Bernard Lee is the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Singapore Paincare Holdings Limited (Singapore Paincare), a medical services group listed on the Singapore Exchange. As a pioneer of interventional pain procedures in Singapore, with a vision to be a disruptive force in this field, Dr. Lee has revolutionised pain care treatment by taking the practice beyond the confines of hospitals and specialist clinics to primary care clinics. He is a key opinion leader in several pain specialty interest groups and pharmaceutical platforms, and regularly conducts talks and training sessions in the public and professional arenas. Dr Lee pioneered the first pain management unit at Tan Tock Seng Hospital in 2002. He played a key role in establishing the pain management department in Franco Vietnamese Hospital, Vietnam in 2006, and was also instrumental in setting up the first Women’s Pain Centre at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital in 2009.

Dr Rongrong graduated from Sun Yat-Sen University in 2013 and is now a physician with The Urban Clinic.

Dr Xu Yanping is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Eye Specialist Clinic Pte Ltd. She is one of only a few glaucoma specialists to have completed 3 advanced training fellowships under the mentorship of world-renowned glaucoma specialists. She has undergone specialised training in a diverse range of glaucoma surgeries including trabeculectomy, glaucoma filtration tube devices and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). Dr Xu has a special interest in MIGS implants and has managed complex glaucoma patients in both Asian and Caucasian populations, and is always keen to deliver the best surgical outcomes for her patients.

Dr Yeoh Teng Kwong is a retired Associate Professor from the Department of the Built Environment, College of Design and Engineering, National University of Singapore. He possesses a Doctorate degree in Chemistry. Prior to joining academia, he spent 32 years in the corporate sector holding various management positions in the air travel and hotel industries. Although retired, he continues to teach in NUS on a part-time basis, sharing his practitioner’s perspective with students who are studying management modules. He is a keen writer of opinion pieces, mostly on management and social issues.

Store before going on to set up a retail consultancy. More recently, the dapper and natty dresser has devoted his energies toward Training and Coaching all levels of staff specifically in the areas of Personal Grooming and Professional Presentation techniques. He is currently a host on SilverStreak’s “Wear It Well” and is also an active volunteer, particularly with organizations which focus on helping the Silver Community lead more productive, active and healthier lifestyles.

A former, teacher turned journalist and later PR practitioner is now happily retired. She spends her time reading, writing and talking to her plants. Rani is big on long walks and spends her mornings at the Botanic Gardens and exploring park connectors around the red dot. When borders open up, she will resume her other passion traveling. Cooking is therapeutic for her and she volunteers at Live On Purpose and in the pandemic she started learning a new language Urdu to keep sane. Rani enjoys hanging out with friends and discovering places off the beaten track and in the process, anywhere good food abounds. Hence the long walks to burn all those calories.

William is originally from the American heartland but continually moved westward until he ended up in the East – to California, Hawaii, Japan and then Singapore, where he has lived most of his life. He began his career in the airline industry and later switched to advertising, both of which fit well with his interest in photography, music and travel. Things Asian are also among his passions: he majored in Japanese as well as Asian Studies in his university days. And, as “no” doesn’t seem to be in his vocabulary, he gets heavily involved in community work.
