Free F1 Events In Singapore: Best Off-Track Activities, Festivals, and Exhibitions To Catch

Summary:

Singapore’s yearly F1 season feels like a bit of an oxymoron. We have racers clocking upwards of 250kmh on the track, while regular motorists slow to a crawl with traffic snarls and road closures just metres from the action.
So why not head off-track instead, and check out the many free F1 events happening around town?
While we appreciate the hullabaloo of the paddock, the surrounding parties, and the adrenaline-thumping night circuit, the city can feel like the centre of a very crowded universe during the leadup to the F1 Singapore Grand Prix.
Rather than navigating an asteroid field of traffic black holes and visitors from a galaxy far, far away, head to one of the several exciting activities happening during the F1 season on the fringes of the race hubbub.
It’s a chance for motorheads to sneak away for some off-track action – or an escape for everyone else who want to get in on some of the action without being at the actual race site.

Duck out from the epicentre of the F1 Singapore Grand Prix action and head to the hills of Dempsey for some motorsports-themed R&R at Gallery26.
The museum’s inaugural exhibition – dubbed SGP: Dare to be Different – is suitably centred around the history of the F1 racing scene in Singapore. The best part? It’s entirely free.
Expect plenty of authentic race-themed memorabilia and titbits of historical motorsports knowledge – though it won’t all be scale models and racing jerseys.
After all, the exhibition also features full-sized F1 Ferrari race cars driven by the likes of Charles Leclerc and Kimi Raikkonen (before he moved to Sauber). The museum is almost never crowded, and will see extended opening hours for the remainder of the F1 season.
