Singapore is known for its lush greenery, innovative urban landscapes, and manicured gardens. In line with this commitment to enhancing its green spaces, several new parks have sprouted up, some of them having undergone significant transformations.
These newly revitalised parks not only enhance the urban landscape, but also offer a wider range of recreational activities and easier access to nature.
We highlight 5 new parks all around Singapore worth checking out this weekend.
5 New Parks To Visit
1. Bidadari Park: New park that brings the magic of Winnie the Pooh to life

Hooray to fitness junkies living in the northeast! Bidadari Park officially opened to the public in September this year.
The park, conveniently located near Woodleigh and Bartley MRT stations, showcases distinctive architecture and landscaping inspired by the Hundred Acre Wood from Winnie the Pooh. It beautifully retains the area’s natural, woodland character, offering a serene escape within the city.
Bidadari Park is home to Alkaff Lake, the park’s main attraction. The lake offers a relaxing spot for residents and visitors, also acting as a stormwater pond to help prevent flash floods in the surrounding area.
Rainwater from drains and the park naturally flows into the lake, which sits at the lowest point of the estate. Normally, the lake holds 10,000 cubic metres of water with a depth of 1.5m. During heavy rain, it can hold up to 40,000 cubic metres of water — equivalent to 16 Olympic-sized swimming pools.

Other highlights of Bidadari Park include the Adventure Playwoods, a treehouse playground with climbing nets, slides and a bird’s nest observation pod.
Families can unwind at Tembusu Lawn, while nature lovers can explore the marshlands and watch for birds of prey from a 20m-high nesting platform, enhancing the park’s natural charm.

West Coast Park has been renovated to include a therapeutic garden, which officially opened in September 2024. With how stressful life can get in Singapore, using nature to heal and allow Singaporeans to destress has become increasingly important.
The new Therapeutic Garden at West Coast Park is thoughtfully planned out with dedicated senior and children’s zones. It caters to a broad range of visitors, including seniors, children with special needs such as autism, and those using wheelchairs.
One of the main features is the landscape mounds spread across the garden. These mounds assist children with special needs in navigating the area, allowing them to explore and become comfortable with the surroundings before joining activities held there.
The garden supports therapeutic horticulture, where nature-based activities like gardening, leaf collages, and scent-bag-making promote physical and mental well-being. These activities can boost concentration, reduce stress, and improve emotional health.
