If you think only Michelle Yeoh can be everything everywhere all at once, think again. Susie Low, better known as SuzyFromSingapore, spends most of her days flitting across Singapore, morphing into different roles as she goes.
On some days, she’s at a hospital, cosplaying as Wonder Woman to bring some superhero cheer to the children’s ward. Then, she’s off to a shoot for a silver-focused modelling agency, assuming she’s not already at Universal Studios Singapore, guiding VIP guests on a tour around the theme park or mentoring new hires.
You can probably get a better idea of her exploits on her Instagram and TikTok accounts, where she goes by the moniker SuzyFromSingapore — “It’s always been my favourite spelling of my name. I almost had it changed legally once,” says the silver with a shrug — and creates content with the express intention of dispelling ageist myths.
It helps, of course, that Susie is already walking the talk in her day-to-day as a charity cosplayer, VIP guide, model and mother of one.

Read on to find out why she’s tackling her silver years with such gusto, along with her unique take on the universal journey of ageing.

Always a people person
But first, a quick history lesson. Before Susie donned multiple hats, she wore an air stewardess uniform full-time for 18 years with Cathay Pacific and United Airlines. She eventually lost her job when the airline’s business suffered after the September 11 terror attacks, though she says in hindsight it was a blessing in disguise.

"As she slowly grew up and went to school, I started finding that I had a lot of free time. So I decided to use my people skills."

On a recommendation from a friend, Susie applied for a job at Universal Studios Singapore in Resorts World Sentosa — landing first in retail, then later as a park guide. The role stuck, and Susie ended up staying for more than a decade and a half.

"The most important thing is that you have to believe in yourself and go for it — if you never try, you'll never know."

"Don't dress your age" says the silver cosplayer and model
It is clear from Susie’s most recent exploits that she takes her own advice to heart. In early 2022, she heard about Platinum Angels Management, a modelling agency in Singapore exclusive to men and women above the age of 50. It aligned perfectly with her own views on ageing, but she was still hesitant to take the leap.
She recorded a short introduction video — “Completely bare-faced, with no makeup or filters – I’d never felt so vulnerable!” and sent it in.
After no news for a month, the silver had resigned herself to not being selected. But then a call came in.
As a freelance model represented by the agency, Susie gets occasional gigs with inclusive fashion brands and local companies. One particularly memorable event was the Silver Generation Runway Show at Design Orchard in 2022, where she was chosen to participate by local fashion icon Daniel Boey.

Susie also conducts social media crash courses for her fellow models. “I always tell them that I’m not an expert – I’m just more curious, so I will go out of my way to learn and try things out,” she says on her TikTok and Instagram expertise.

Last year, Susie decided to embark on a new sort of modelling with a charitable spin. She joined Pause for a Cause, a community group where cosplay enthusiasts gather to do good while dressing up as their favourite characters.
The silver now volunteers about once a month with Pause for a Cause. Since getting over her initial fear of cosplaying, Susie often dons the golden Wonder Woman costume inspired by the 2020 flick Wonder Woman 1984, though she’s just as game to put on the superhero’s classic red-and-blue costume.
Together with other cosplayers and several minders, Susie visits children’s wards at hospitals, draws in the crowd at charity roadshows for organisations like The Salvation Army and the Bone Marrow Donor Programme, and attends parades like the annual Chingay (where they engaged visitors near the activity area).

"It's a magical moment for us every time we enter the children's ward, because you can see their faces just light up. Even the nurses will get excited and ask us for photos!"

However, Susie admits that not everyone “looks kindly” on seniors who buck the trend.
On living life to the fullest
With two years to go before hitting the big six, Susie has not made any plans to slow down.
She shares that she’s faced multiple close brushes with death over the years – once, when she had to remove a throat tumour in 2018, and again in 2022, when she had an asthma attack.

"My mantra has always been, 'Stay curious, stay active and never stop learning.' Keep meeting new people, keep rediscovering yourself and trying new things – do not stop."
