The 6 Cosiest In-Store Cafes For Some Mid-Shopping R&R
Most of Singapore’s best shopping streets are littered with cafes and eateries offering customers a cosy sanctuary to kick their feet up and assess the damage – both to their wallets and their weary feet.
But what if you could find respite without leaving the boutiques and departments stores?
These are six cafes and eateries tucked conveniently within the confines of a retail store, meaning shopping-laden hubbies (or wives) don’t have far to go when they’re looking for a space to recharge and refuel with affordable brunch plates and cafe lattes after a day of retail therapy.

Ever get peckish while you’re browsing for a new ride? Well, it doesn’t really matter, since you’d probably want to make a special trip down for this anyway.
We’re talking about Na Oh, a new casual Korean restaurant that’s gotten everyone abuzz with excitement for two reasons.
For one, its patron is Corey Lee of San Francisco’s three-Michelin-starred Benu, though the concept here is decidedly more laidback with staples like samgye-tang (ginseng chicken soup) and naengmyeon (cold beef noodles) featuring in its debut summer four-course set menu.
It’ll even use produce grown onsite at HMGICS’ smart-farm – which brings us to reason number two: The chance to test-drive a Hyundai at an in-store test track before taking a load off to tuck in.

Navigating Swedish furniture giant IKEA’s maze-like megastores can be tiring, even after accounting for ample sofas and beds lying around for one to take a load off.
That’s where its stalwart Swedish Restaurant comes in, typically at the halfway mark after all the furniture and before the kitchenware.
Crowd favourites include the Swedish meatballs (from $7.50 for eight pieces) and deep-fried chicken wings (from $4 for two pieces), as well as the $1 hotdog and $0.50 soy ice cream waiting at the bistro after the cashier – think of it as a reward for making it through the labyrinthine store.
The Tampines outlet is the biggest in Singapore so far, with free all-day parking.
